Lama Tashi Norbu
The Tibetan Monk & Born Artist
By Beenu Rajpoot
Tibet and its art have always been a world-wide attraction. Lama Tashi Norbu, a Tibetan Buddhist monk and artist, was influenced by his grandparents' spiritual teachings. His grandfather was a L'abri, and his grandmother was a Lama who transformed into a rainbow body after death.
Lama Tashi studied at the Dalai Lama's schools and Saint Lucas Art Academy in Belgium and the Netherlands. He founded the MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY TIBETAN ART in the Netherlands in 2017, the only museum dedicated to Tibetan art. In addition to his art, Lama Tashi enjoys chanting Tibetan mantras and performing with other musicians.
Recently he received the Himalayan Peace Award from Queen Maria Leonora Torres of the Philippines, along with Dignitaries, kings and queens who granted him the title of Peace Ambassador, as well as a Certificate of Recognition from the Office of Councilwoman Victoria Seaman of the City of Las Vegas. We are Proud of Lama Tashi Norbu who has represented his country Tibet, their People, Culture and Art for many decades.
The documentary film "LAMA TASHI NORBU - The Tibetan Monk & Born Artist" follows Lama Tashi Norbu, who promotes Tibetan art and culture globally, showcasing his modern contemporary art all over the world.
